Doubt: A parable

17 07 2008

A new theater company has popped up in the Southeastern CT area. Emerson Theatre Collaborative (etc.) is producing their first play “Doubt” by John Patrick Shanley. It’s debut performance will be August 15-17, and August 21-23 at the Union Baptist Church in Mystic, CT.

I worked with the director, Albert Cremin, to create a poster that encompasses his vision of this award winning play. The crow is featured throughout as a side note and Albert chose this symbolic creature to represent his interpretation of the play. I helped Albert’s vision of the crow come alive with an image that will be featured on the posters, postcards, banners, the program, and advertisements.

Here is the image I created. This is created on white scratchboard paper, which I then drew on with Micron pens and certain elements were scratched out for detail.

I am also designing all the collateral that this image will be used in, posters, postcards and banner.

This is a wonderful group of people who are talented and genuine. I hope to see you all at the play! For more information please call (860) 706-9711 or visit: emersontheatercollaborative.org
